CNS*2025 Florence: Travel awards
A limited number of merit based travel awards, given based on review of the submitted extended summaries by the program committee, will be available to presenting students and postdocs who are OCNS members. Women and members of other historically under-represented communities in Computational Neuroscience are particularly encouraged to apply.
Applications for travel grants can be submitted during the abstract submission process. Please note that when you request to be considered for a travel award you need to submit both the standard abstract on the web form and an extended summary as a pdf attachment.
Applications for travel awards, along with abstract submissions, are due March 18, 2025. To be eligible for a travel grant, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Applicants must be OCNS student or postdoc member. Please ensure your membership application is completed prior to applying.
- During the regular abstract submission process, applicants must also submit a 1-3 page summary (for the OCNS reviewers only). This summary should describe the nature, scope and the main results of the work in more detail.
- The following information must also be included in the 1-3 page summary:
- Name of presenting author
- Supervisor of presenting author (note that we will balance the awardees across labs)
- Institute and country of the presenting author
- Gender of presenting author
Recipients of travel awards will be notified by early May, 2025.
Travel awards are provided as a lump sum, with the amount determined by the distance traveled. These grants are intended to help offset the costs of attending the conference, but are not expected to cover all expenses. As a reference, in 2023 awardees from within Europe received $400, awardees from North America received $800, and awardees from further away (e.g., Australia, Asia) received $1000. Awards will be handed out after the conference via check, PayPal. or wire transfer.
